For someone who works 50+ hours a week, has a social life, dates, and a family… where do I find time for ME?
Scheduling time for ME around my life has been tough… but I’ve found that if I don’t make myself a priority, I soon start to deteriorate. Then, my job performance is affected, and frankly, I’m not a nice person to be around!
So, here’s how I recharge:
During this month, (as always) I really want to remind you how much I appreciate your feedback on everything! I love love notes, and I take criticism really well! (I promise!)
If you ever need to get in touch with me, here’s how:
There’s lots of ways to reach me directly as usual!
AND I have a surprise for you.
During the calendar month of September, I’ll be giving away three $15 iTunes giftcards. In order to win, you must do at least ONE of the following before September 30th, 2010:
Winners will be chosen at random. I’ll announce the winners on the last day of September. In order to claim your prize, you must provide your email address (so I can give you your gift card!) as well as your blog url if you have one. I’ll list the winners in a post as well.
Good luck!
So. You’ve either seen tweets, checked your blog dashboard, found a trackback somewhere, or you magically showed up on my site without any prior knowledge of my existance… and are reading my words. No matter how you got here, I’m stoked that you’ve found your way to me!
This post is for the BEDS Campaign! The BEDS Campaign is the brain child of Erik Mathew. He says:
I’ve noticed that people don’t really take the time to get to know each other anymore. When was the last time you sat down with someone you barely know just to talk about life? People don’t take the effort it sometimes takes to dig beneath the surface. People are so much more than what they appear. This campaign is a way to learn from each other. It’s a way to make real, deep connections.
My name is Charissa. The first syllable sounds like car. There’s no L, the H is silent. If you’re really having issues with it, call me Rissa. I’m in my twenties. I don’t eat blue m&ms.
Don’t think about tomorrow signifying that 2/3 of the year is over. Don’t spend it thinking about how Halloween is next month.. and that Christmas is just down the road after that.
Spend it BLOGGING. Tomorrow kicks off the BEDS (Blog Every Day in September) campaign!
Check my sidebar for details!
OH and if you’re planning on participating, let me know so I can list you in a later post today. :]
So for those of you who aren’t aware, I’m currently about 555 miles south of my house, in a tiny tiny Texan town. You’ve probably heard of it. I drove here by myself, for myself. I have grandparents and an aunt who live here as well.
As a solo roadtrip, I expected this to be a time of reflective inspiration; time where I could get my thoughts on track. Without going into detail, that very thing has happened. My relationships with my grandparents, my aunt and others have been strengthened. I was also able to forget about a lot of the crap stuff going on at home.
While I’ve been here, I:
I love this trip. I’m sad that today is my last day, but I’m excited to be able to come home and tell you all what I’ve done (in greater detail) and to show you all of my photos and video.
What’s your favourite trip you’ve ever taken? Comment/Reply/Answer!
It’s Tuesday afternoon. I leave for my trip tomorrow morning.
I still have to pack most of my stuff, purchase snacks and pack them, charge and sync about 3842039472034823 gadgets… and oh yeah, my 10 hour workday today is makin’ this all go so so smoothly. (I’m not sarcastic, am I?)
I’m pretty ridiculously stoked though. I won’t blog anything scintillating (stay tuned to my twitter feed) [available on the left sidebar as well] until a week from today, if all goes according to plan.
Should be exciting. I’ll be live tweeting the drive to and from, as well as posting pictures and whatnot.
Love.

And on my 18th birthday we got matching tattoos; used to steal your parents’ liquor and climb to the roof, talk about our future like we had a clue…”

SPI Week 2009 ;]
Tonight, I am attending a gala for the release of “The Red Fire Fly” by Denver author Michael Wallace. An up-and-coming novel about time travel, salad spinners, a tiny red fly and a US Senator, it’s sure to please readers with a palate for science fiction literature.
This release party is also for the book’s accompanying soundtrack. Yes, the book comes with a soundtrack. Michael says,
“The book has references to the accompanying soundtrack songs, adding another dimension to the reader’s experience. Press play, open the book, sit back and enjoy!”
As soon as I have it, more information will be available on where to purchase the book, as well as the soundtrack.
Smile Friday: The “please make a piggy nose for this picture” edition.
Bahahaha. Highfives if you laughed as hard as I did. :p
